Our Story & Founder

OB1 Insurance traces its roots back to 2009, when Michael O’Brien founded the agency as H&L Insurance. From day one, our mission has been simple: put people first by offering honest advice, personal guidance, and coverage clients can count on.


Over the years, H&L Insurance became a trusted local name for Medicare, life, home, and auto insurance, serving seniors, families, and businesses throughout New York State. As we grew and expanded our team, we never lost sight of our core values—clarity, integrity, and community focus.


In 2022, H&L Insurance officially became OB1 Insurance. The new name honors our founder and reflects our commitment to personalized service and local expertise, while maintaining the high standards and trusted support our clients expect.
